I'm feeling great. Like a million bucks for sure.
2009 was a stressful year. It felt like one thing after another. We found out on New Years Day last year that our house had been robbed while we were on vacation. Then we spent the next 3 months getting insurance settled with it and getting everything fixed and partially replaced. That wasn't enough so we ended up reinforcing our doors and windows, adding lights around the exterior, motion sensors, and a security system. That was only 2 weeks after we had to put our dog down because of cancer. Then the marital problems came a knockin'. That pretty much carried through most of the year but ended in better understanding and communication for us.
I can't even begin to explain how proud I am of myself though. Yes, I had my moments through the year but going through everything that happened and coming out of it happier, more hopeful, more peaceful, and more grounded than what I was when it all started is something to celebrate. I really feel as though I finally found something in myself that I never knew existed. 2010 is going to be a fantastic year of one success after another.
I spent most of the day yesterday creating a new budget for the year and planning all kinds of fun stuff. I love doing that stuff. I'm a planner through and through so when it's time to sit down and think about what I want to do and accomplish and figure out how to get there, I'm in seventh heaven. Last night, the Hubby and I just hung out the two of us. Nothing special. We made homemade pizzas with whole wheat pizza dough. They turned out yummy. And I had some Prosecco. I was still within my calories for the day though. Yay for me.
Starting today, I'm counting down to test time for the ACSM exam. I wish I knew which day I was taking the test for sure. I can't schedule it until next week though. I set the counter at March 15th for now but will adjust it when I get the test scheduled. I want to be held accountable for my study habits so I don't end up pushing it and procrastinating because of the weird emotional hangup I have on it. It's something I want to do and it's something that I think will only help me in everything else I want to do too. And a little challenge never hurt anyone. So, there you have that.
I just got back from the gym. Can you believe that I got up at 8:30 this morning and went to the gym? I did! 1hr on the treadmill, 30 mins in the pool, 10 mins in the sauna. Total work out burned about 600 calories. I'm starting the year off RIGHT, right?
Okay, I think that's enough from me for the moment. I'm thinking of posting again tonight to talk about the 4week challenge I'm doing with Accountabilibuddy so check back later for more info.
Happy New Year!
