Even being at home all day, I've still managed to stay on with my food. No grazing or anything. Yay me! So I'm going to do my best to get tons of water today and practice my guitar in addition to the rest of the stuff I did yesterday.
Okay, in the spirit of trying to make the best of the day and speaking of getting back to the basics, I have an announcement to make.
I got another dog.
Wanna see her?
There she is.
She is about 2 years old.
We think she's a MinPin-Chihuahua mix (Chipin)
She's a tiny little thing. Actually a little fat but I went and got some lite dog food so hopefully that'll help her slim down a little.
She was my best friend's dog. You know, the one I took care of after the hysterectomy last week? Yes, that one. Well, my friend has 2 little kids running around the house (3 and 5 years old). Boys. And this little dog isn't so keen on the kidlets. So her husband said get rid of the damn dog or she was going to be taken to the pound and put down. I could NOT let that happen. So I agreed to take her home with me and see if Hubby and Pollyanna would be willing or able to live with her.
Naughty me, I didn't tell Hubby about her until we were already on our way home from 2 hrs away. Oops. So, he wasn't pleased with me. And we decided to give her 2 weeks to see if Polly will like her and if we can get some training in to teach her how to behave. As much as I love my friend, she didn't really do any training with the dog so the dog has what appears to be "little dog syndrome". She thinks she's in charge of everyone and everything because she's been allowed to get away with what ever she wanted. They let her sleep in the bed with them, she had food available all the time, she could jump on and sleep on any furniture she felt like, she barked at everyone coming in or going out, she is very territorial with her people, etc.
She had the name of Brownie but I just can't in good conscience call her that. What a horrible name. Hubby said it sounds like "brown eye". My friend agreed and wanted to change her name too. So, Hubby and I went back and forth on all kinds of names and I think we finally settled on one. Chica. Yes, she will be known from now on as Chica, the little Chipin.
She's a good little dog, just needs some basic obedience training and to be taught that she is not the alpha round these parts. Both Hubby and I have already started the alpha battle with her. She got snippy with me today so I pinned her down on her back and had a staring contest from 2 inches away. She peed on herself. She's been good ever since. Success!
Okay, now I'm smiling. And it's time to get to the gym. Hope you all have/had a good day.

Chica is way better than Brownie!! Pollyanna might really be ready for a friend/companion when mom and dad aren't home. I can picture her watching the little pup and rolling her eyes thinking that kind of energy expenditure just isn't worth it.

Good luck integrating your new pack member! :)
Salina Lyn darlin', you are doing so great! I'm so sorry to drop off the radar in December but I'm back! It looks like you're going strong! And I like your new Chica ...she's so cute. But that's right, you show her who's boss! If you got her piddlin' on herself, she's getting the idea!
