Mondays
Mondays I think are just a little rude now don't you agree? We have just relaxed into our weekend on Sunday when Monday comes trotting along and interrupts our peaceful slumber. Monday is the little kid that insists on waking you up too early by taking a flying leap into the middle of the bed while you're enjoying the tail end of your REM sleep. And, as if that's not bad enough, they always seem to land right on the family jewels for the masculine genre or smacking mommy right in the face. WAKE UP, WAKE UP, it's morning time! That's one good reason I don't want kids.
Tuesdays
Tuesdays seem to be a little boring to me. They just lack the personality to hold my attention. I think they're intentially designed that way. If every day were like Monday, we'd all be postal by the end of the week. So, Tuesdays have been brought to us for the sole purpose of numbing the Monday pain so we can have the strength and sagacity to make it to Wednesday. For that, Tuesday, I'm eternally grateful.
Wednesdays
Wednesday...what's not to like? Hump day! Oh come on, don't act suprised. You knew it was coming. And if you didn't, you really should get to know me better. Wednesday is just a bridge. It's necessary. It's neither good, nor bad. It just is. And we thank you Wednesday for fulfilling your duty to the best of your ability.
Thursdays
We just got done climbing that bridge yesterday and oh boy are we ready for the downhill portion of the program. Thursdays are the fun part of the week. We did all the hard work already, now we're just looking forward to how close the end of the week is. Thursday meets us at the other side of that bridge, reaches out it's hand (that is if Thursday had any limbs) and says to us (that is if Thursday could talk) "nice job, you made it through the torture of Monday, the mind numbing Tuesday, and the treaturous climb of Wednesday. I'll take you the rest of the way." Now isn't that a nice thing to do? I think so.
Fridays
Fridays are a little antagonistic actually. They're perpetually playing the neener neener game with us. We were just relieved by the sweet nature of Thursday only to turn the corner and see this:
Okay, so Fridays are a little cute but you can really only take so much of their silly antics before they just get annoying and you want to kick them in the head.
We shant discuss Saturday or Sunday at this time. I just don't think they deserve to be included in this click. They are a different breed entirely and should be addressed as such.
Okay, now that I think I've adequately demonstrated my rationalization and built my case for Team Thursday, perhaps I should explain a little about why my train of thought went down this path. Hmmm?
This is how my week went:
Monday - Same ole same ole. Nothing special. Nothing exciting. Nothing wrong. It just happened like it always happens...until we received some disheartening communication. Ended the day in a terrible funk.
Tuesday - Dreadful day. I felt like crap all day. Sad and stressed out. Didn't go to the gym. Patrone was employed to cheer me up a little. I ended up feeling worse.
Wednesday - Recovered from the horror of Monday and Tuesday. It took me a little to get going but once I was up, I managed to pop my head out of my ass with some impressive force and ended the day feeling pretty proud of my accomplishment.
Thursday - The sun is shining, there is cheerful Christmas music everywhere, I tried on a pair of pants that I was never able to wear and now they fit, I did my calories for Tuesday and Wednesday and found out that I didn't actually do any damage, I've got a plan for the rest of the month and even moving on into January so success is just inevitable and it feels lovely. I love Thursday.
Okay so maybe it is a little random. Oh well. I enjoyed it anyway.
Who's with me? Team Thursday?
What's your favorite day?
