I've got a couple things going on right now in the spirit of back to the basics. I've decided that I need to check in daily about how my action items for success are going so I don't unintentionally ignore or forget them. And I'm working on my goals for the new year. I've got a couple challenges that are coming along too.
Here goes.
Check In for Yesterday
- Blog - Yes
- Burn 400 calories - close, 375. I did 55 mins on the treadmill with a couple intervals of jogging.
- 60oz water - don't think so. I did drink water but not enough.
- Meals - Yes. I had a challenge last night with this. I had originally planned to eat tilapia, brocolli, and brown rice for dinner then realized half way through the day that my work was having our team holiday party at Buca di Beppo. So....I did what I could to minimize the damage but didn't have any real control over what was ordered. Everything was breaded and fried and stuffed and dripping with sauces. I nibbled on a few things and managed to keep the calories to about 600 or so. That's a big guess because the lovely Buca doesn't post their nutrtion info anywhere. Bastards! But I did my best. And I ended the day only over my goal calories by 200. Not bad for the nastiness that is Buca di Beppo.
- Meditate - nope. I did day dream a little but I don't consider it the same thing.
- Practice guitar - nope. Went straight from work to the gym and straight from the gym to Buca then got home late so ended up going straight to bed and reading a little before falling asleep.
- Read - Yes. Persuasion still. Almost done.
- Thank You - Yes. :)
- Vitamins - Damn...forgot.
- Track - Yes
New Year Goals (so far)
- Get the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer exam done in March
- Start teaching Punk Rope shortly therafter
- Reach goal weight/ body by end of year (123lbs or 15% body fat whichever comes first)
- Finish up all the tiny touches in my house (paint rest of molding, fix calking, etc.)
- Be totally debt free by end of year
- Start a weekly language class after completing the ACSM stuff and Punk Rope is up and running
- Continue all daily success actions and guitar lessons throughout the year
Challenges
- My Accountabilibuddy is a good Weight Watcher and sent me a 4 week challenge she decided that we would do together to start the year right. It's kind of nice actually. It starts next week so I'll give you the details then and perhaps others would like to join us. :)
- There is a 5k happening in my neighborhood in April and Accountabilibuddy and I will be signing up for it. My goal is to run the whole thing.
- I will list my ACSM Exam in here because it's really a mental challenge for me to get going on it because I'm really just not feeling confident about it at all. I can logically see the ridiculousness about my emotional hang up but it's still there and it's definitely challenging for me to do it anyway. BUT, I am going to do it anyway.

Nice clear plans. I would love to hear more about what the emotional challenge is with the ACSM Exam.
