LHAS 11 of 16: Oh nothin' much

So, Salina...what have you been up to lately?

Oh not much. You know, same ole same ole.

Really? That doesn't sound like you. Is everything ok?

Well, ya I'm ok. Just been working out and counting my calories, working, roller skating, reading my newest book for book club (The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society), evaluating my goals, planning for my future, selling my old mountain bike, bought a new cruiser bicycle, job hunting, hiking, went to a funeral, saw my long lost family after 8 years of no communication, cleaning my house, working in the yard, blogging, thinking about taking a writing class or two, thinking about pulling out my Rosetta Stone again and working on my Spanish, went on a vacation, oh and started a roller derby boot camp that goes all summer. But that's about it. Nothing big.

Bah - are you insane? That's a lot! Okay, lets go through this a little slower. First, tell me about the book.

Horrible book title right? I know. I thought the same thing. One of my book club members picked it as this month's read. I don't think it's a classic which is a little irritating since it is suppose to be a classic book club but whatever. It's actually a really great book. Loving it!

You sold your mountain bike, huh?

Yes! I had to. Hubby made me buy the stupid thing almost a decade ago, swearing that we were going to try riding the trails together. It never happened. But I did manage to try to ride it a couple times throughout the years and decided I just hated the stupid bike with a passion. So, I went shopping and found the cutest little cruiser you ever did see.

See? What did I tell ya? She's beautiful. It's the Schwinn Jenny. I just got a cute basket for the front too. I'll have to take more pictures and share them with you. Perhaps I'll have to follow in the steps of the hot bicyclin' mama over in the NYC with pictures of my bicycling adventures in Seattle.

Blogging? What's new with that?

Ah, yes. Well, I decided that my lonely little Living Active blog needed some attention and TLC since it's been kind of ignored over the months. So, I decided to spend more time over there and give it a face lift and breathe some new life into it. I'm actually going to be introducing a new challenge over there too so I would love it if you would come over and follow and participate in the challenge. I need the support and encouragement. This month's activity is swimming but voting is open for August activity so please vote.

Now what's this about a roller derby boot camp? What the hell are you up to now?

I told you about that didn't I? Oh well, Rat City Rollergirls are puting on their 3rd annual Makin' Bacon roller derby boot camp. It's 3 days per week for 6 weeks of roller derby training. Of course I signed up for it and have attended the first camp. I was soooooo nervous, I can't even begin to tell you how much fluttering the butterflies were doing. Still actually. I want to be a good skater so badly that my freakin' nerves are going to get the best of me. I need to just chill out and go with the flow. Well, that is after I'm able to move my arms and legs again. Ouch my muscles hurt! I'm going to be talking all about my experiences and aches and pains and bruises and tryouts when they get here over at Living Active too. Don't miss the gory details. Here's the first installment.
